Zimbabwe has postponed the re-opening of schools and other learning institutions by two weeks following the surge in new Covid-19 cases.
This was announced by Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa, at a post-cabinet briefing to the media on Tuesday.
Mutsvangwa added that the government will be monitoring the situation and a review will be made after two weeks.
The minister also announced that the country expects 500,000 more doses of COVID-19 Vaccines on Saturday, while another 2 million doses are expected at the end of the year.
Zimbabwe has thus far 42,611 recorded positive coronavirus cases and 1,698 deaths.
